Music Ministries
We Invite You To Worship With Us.
O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!” - Psalm 95:1-2
The music ministry at OAPC connects with the vision and mission of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church to Love God and Love Neighbor through a multi-faceted music program. Opportunities to share your musical gifts and connect with persons of all ages, interests and abilities are available through choirs, handbell and instrumental ensembles as well as individual instrument solos. Whatever the musical opportunity, each regularly leads in the OPAC worship experience. There are also opportunities to assist the music ministry through non-musical support.
Whether you are an accomplished musician or not, or just have a love for music and interest in exploring your potential, you are invited to join us in “making a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”
The musicians of OAPC look forward to having you join our music family as we grow stronger in our faith through the gift of music.

Music difficulty is easy to moderate and selected depending on the abilities of the players. Instrumentalists from this group, also have an opportunity for solo work in worship with choirs or individually. Rehearsals are called a few weeks prior to playing in worship. Betsy will be glad to talk with anyone interested in sharing their talents with OAPC.
Jazz Ensemble

Instrumentalists include, percussion, guitar, keyboard, wind instruments and any other jazz appropriate instrumentalists. Rehearsals are called on an “as needed” basis and casual in its approach. Ability to read music is helpful, but a “good ear” is more helpful. Lyle will be glad to talk with any jazz enthusiasts about participation.
Join Our Worship Tech Team
The past 8 out of 10 new people to connect with OAPC have found our services online and then decided to attend our in-person services. The importance of investing time and effort into this ministry of OAPC has never been greater!
We have had a small faithful group of volunteers carrying this ministry for the past two years.
We want to invite you into what God is doing at OAPC by joining our technology team to serve
not only our own congregation, but those in our community and who are homebound.
Don't let the word technology scare you. Our current team will train you and make sure you are comfortable with the equipment.
Is God calling you to serve?
If so, please reach out to our Tech Coordinator, at oapc@oapc.net.
