Throughout the semester we sponsor events on campus and offer ways to get involved. We’re going camping and rafting on September 23-25. We support CROP Walk. We meet with other PSAs from around the state for a service retreat the first weekend of November (Nov. 4-6).

The Campus Ministry of OAPC exists to engage students, faculty, and other members in the Winthrop University community in shared ministry and service in the community of Rock Hill and around the world. We provide regular opportunities for fellowship, study, and service; we encourage students to examine, challenge, and grow their faith; and we provide opportunities to remember and act out Jesus’ words that the greatest among us is the one who serves. Consider these ways of being involved in Campus Ministry at OAPC:
FLIGHT: is our weekly evening meal and program. FLIGHT stands for Finding Life in God’s House Today. We meet regularly on Tuesday nights at 6:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Student Center across the parking lot from OAPC. We have Bible studies, guest speakers, small and large mission projects (mark your calendar for March 9-13, 2012 Mission Trip!) and a good time is had by all!
College Feedback: is a lunch provided for Winthrop folks each and every Sunday during the school year. It’s home-cooked, and made with TLC by a member of our congregation to welcome Winthrop students into our OAPC family.
We start each semester with a retreat to get to know each other and to make great plans. Our Fall Retreat includes whitewater rafting on the Chattooga this year and heads out September 23-25. Contact John O’Kain for details.
Statewide Presbyterian Student Association Retreats happen each semester at a campus or camp in SC. We gather with other PSA’ers and do service projects or learn and worship with gifted leaders, teachers, and musicians. This Fall? We head to Furman, November 4-6!
Montreat College Conference: Start your year off right! This Jan. 2-5 will be a great time to join with hundreds of other college folks to explore the theme “Seeking Stars” based on the verses “Lift up your eyes and look around;… then you shall see and be radiant;” (Isaiah 60:4-5)
In addition to other service projects , we look forward to supporting the CROP Walk this year with many other students and local churches. This year, it’s October 23; save the date!
